Ernst Wasmuth was a renowned German publisher from Berlin who specialized in architectural subjects and decorative arts. This publication “Wasmuths Neue Malerien”, published in 1898, was a collection of very decorative architectural designs for paintings of ceilings, walls, doors, halls, etc. There were a total of 80 colored plates to the series. Wasmuth is most well known for his collaborative work with Frank Lloyd Wright entitled the “Wasmuth Portfolio”.
