Simon Schynvoet was a Dutch garden architect and art collector who was well known for his ornate designs of garden and park ornaments. In 1704, he published a series of prints in his publication “Voorbeelden der Lusthof Cieraaden Zynde Vassen, Pedastellen”. These prints were of richly designed garden ornaments, pyramids, obelisks, fountains, statues, and memorial monuments. Many of these designs were actually produced and adorned the wealthy Anglo-Dutch gardens of the period. The 30 full page plates from this publication were drawn and engraved by his son Jacob Schynvoet and by Jan Goeree, after the designs by Simon Schynvoet.

Prints from this publication are very rare.
