William Hayes was an ornithological artist who published many volumes on British birds, as well as the rare and curious, during the 19th Century. Some of his works feature life size depictions of birds, similar to Audubon. Hayes had a large family and he employed them to print, color, assemble, and at times to draw some of the illustrations of his publications. It was not uncommon to have the contents of the books vary, due to the prints available at the time each order came in.

Prints from this publication are Rare and feature exquisite original hand coloring.
