Henry Gasser was born in 1909 in Newark, New Jersey and died in 1981 in South Orange, New Jersey. He was associated with Allied Artists of America, American Artists Professional League, American Watercolor Society, Audubon Artists, National Academy of Design, New Haven Paint and Clay Club, New Orleans Art Association, Salmagundi Club Member, Southern States Art League, The Rockport Art Association, and Washington DC Watercolor Club. He exhibited at Allied Artists of America, American Artists Professional League, American Watercolor Society, Art Institute of Chicago, Audubon Artists, Carnegie Institute, Grand Central Art Galleries, Museum of Modern Art, New York, National Academy of Design, New Haven Paint and Clay Club, New Orleans Art Association, Salmagundi Club, Smithsonian Institution, Southern States Art League Annual Exhibition, and Washington DC Watercolor Club. He was a student at Art Students League of New York and Grand Central School. He was also a teacher at Art Students League New York and was awarded the Hallgarten Prize.
