Dietrich, Dr Nathaniel Friedrich (1800-1888) (Ferns)

Dr. David Dietrich was a major figure in 19th Century German botany. Although he published approximately a dozen important botanical works over a period of more than thirty years, he is most famous as the editor of the monumental and finely illustrated “Flora Universalis”. Despite the fact that several editions of Dietrich’s works were published, they are still difficult to acquire. Dietrich’s works are after such illustrious botanical illustrators such as de Candolle, Wildenows, and Sprengels.
