Shades and coloring in artwork and/or mats can vary slightly from the actual color due to the lighting conditions under which the photos have been taken. Digital photography can at times cause straight lines in an image or on a mat to appear wavy or broken, particularly on close ups.

  Artist Bio
Louis Pierre Baltard (1764-1846)

Louis Pierre Baltard was a French architect and engraver. Originally a landscape painter, after traveling through Italy he, however, became enthralled with architecture and chose it as his sole profession. Soon after, he was selected to design many important buildings in Paris. While his architectural talents were superb, he is best known as an engraver. His most well known engravings are the large "elephant folio" plates of Paris from his publication "Paris Et Ses Monumens, Mesure's Dessines Et Graves, Ouvrages Dedie A Napoleon Bonaparte", published in Paris, 1803.

Prints from this publication are extremely rare, and are finely detailed images.
